About

Dania Games – A branch of vocational academy Dania. This branch specialises in game development. Through the educations, Multimedia Design, Computer Science, Software development and producer, you will be equipped with everything you would everywhere else but gives you skills in the world of game development. Such as OOP, Game engines, Proper analysing technics, agile framework and more.

Purpose

Dania Games wanted to advertise this unique educational route better, which is the only one in Denmark. A part of that initiative was exploring a Landing page that would better explain the academy and what you get from taking one of the educations there. We communicated with the campus chef to find out what exactly they wanted to convey with the page and the best way to implement these wishes.

Work

The team worked in the agile framework Scrum and therefore had weekly meeting with the campus Chef, Jonathan Korsbek, to better implement his wishes whilst talking to him about design choices which did or did not work for his target audience. We started by doing research into the company, its products and its customers so we could find out how to best appeal to said customers. The design process went from wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes. All tested along the way both with quantitative and qualitative test methods until the desired product was found.

The Landing Page

This is the delivered product, which was well received by the client. It contains a video banner with student game projects, a section about the campus, student testimonials, possible game professions and game studios the academy works with. All adorned with game inspired pixel art. We had to find a colour balance as the aggressive red colour is iconic to the academy. The best way was to break sections up and change between read and other colours. Through research we kept adding more movement and more pixel art, as well as reducing text. Testers was very vocal about these issues and of course we listened.
