About
This is my first attempt at a proper portfolio website. I knew very little about website design. Yet, I needed a website, so I began to learn, and I loved it. Eventually, I made a site that while having some issues, was something I was proud of and would be my first step into improving my creative skills.
Purpose
Just before I started my education in Multimedia Design, I was seeking a job and needed a proper place to show my work. I designed a website where I could show my work, my hobbies, and where I could tell how I improved in a personal way. I wanted the site to show my personality in a more abstract way and chose to do so with bright colours and wavy lines.
Work
As mentioned, I knew very little about proper website design, so I took what I learned from my former website project and expanded my knowledge. I made a list of what pages I needed and what other portfolio pages have done. Then I drew wireframes on paper, which was a new concept for me at the time. Eventually I drew up banners with dimensions I found to fit my need and of course a logo. I learned pretty quick that WordPress and Elementor had its limitations which gave me a fun challenge to overcome and make the site I wanted to make.

I honestly wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the homepage, but at the time I thought it was a requirement. As I made game reviews and posts about whatever I learned they could be displayed on the front page. As they automatically updated more would be added with time. They plan was to have a section that showed newly added projects as I posted them.
As I do and did a lot I chose to sort projects into 6 categories. Each given a specific shade of pink and a unique icon, which give a visual representation for what each category is about. I kept it simple to reduce any confusion and give a clear direction for the user. As the site was meant for recruiters it was important that they could easily find the projects that match what they are looking for.

This is an example of how I list projects in each category. In this case it is websites. Each project shows the website logo, a bit of what the project is about and an arrow that links to the project. These are made to be easily duplicated and be ready within seconds. A deliberate design in case I forgot how to achieve the precise results on a later date.
I wanted it to be easy to find any contact information on me
easily and all in one place. I even chose to have a way to write to me
directly. I even linked a few of my social media for multiple reasons. First of
some companies does background checks and as I, like many others, have opinions
I wanted to show I have nothing to hide. Not to mention it might be easier to
contact me.
